This Is Not Ok…

Yesterday, many of us woke up to the news that there was yet ANOTHER school shooting. In Texas, a young man opened fire on an elementary school, full of young innocent minds. He killed 19 kids and two teachers. Now we have all seen the news, so no need to report it as such. For me as a parent it makes me fearful, not only because of this but because of the state of our country period. We have to worry about Covid, Sex Trafficking, and Mass shootings, along with a load of other things. Image getting this phone call, there is a shooter at your child’s school! God knows how that feels, but now we need to have a conversation of what’s really the issue. Is it the guns? Is it the mental health? What can we do to stop this? I thought over it awhile, and I wondered what would happen if they banned guns period. Would it end up like the prohibition? More illegal guns while the police are the only ones who can have them. If you thought police brutality is bad now! I mean you would think that without guns on the street, police would have NO reason to fear for their lives. The police would have no excuse as to why they shot an unarmed person of color, but if they are the only ones armed; that would start to feel like a police state. Some argue the 2nd amendment, “Right to Bear Arms” some being the NRA. And if you didn’t know they are the National Rifle Association, who has big money in big places. No matter what happens in this country, I doubt they will ever ban guns because of that. So what could we do?? One idea is hire security in the schools, have an officer at every entrance and they need to be armed. Which wouldn’t be a terrible idea but me being a fearful parent I have to ask if that’s enough? I am curious to what other ideas are going to be put in place to protect our kids. This also comes after a man opened fire in a racist attack on a grocery store, they quickly blame mental health. To which if we are going to blame that than why won’t we provide free health care at least for kids, they would age out at 22 like most insurance does anyway. That would stop the mass shootings right? Personally I don’t believe anything will stop these shootings at this point it seems to be an American thing. We work hard to live everyday, the stress of survival as far as housing, food, clothing and transportation is enough, now we add the stress of survival of our kids when they go to school and the stress of maybe getting shot by a crazy domestic terrorist. What can we do?

Life Can Be..

Everyday is a new chance to live and experience life. These past few weeks I been fighting with life, and boy life been kicking my ass. I got fired from my job because I “didn’t communicate” a issue. And it was dumb. But moving on. No hard feelings really I was going to quit anyway. i just wanted to leave when I was ready. The universe has a way of pushing you out of your comfort zone. Trying to live more because at the rate we are going the only enjoyment we get out of life is work. Aren’t y’all tired??? Speaking of that, I had to postpone the second half of season 2. I got into an accident that made me loose a lot of my equipment. It’s always a set back. But life can be a funny like that, as soon as I was going to move into my next phase. I said all that to say, yes I am set back but I’ll use that to come back harder and better! Today I got another chance, and I’m choosing to go harder! I think we could all consider the chance and the choice everyday we wake up.

Unexpected Blessings

It’s time we have a serious talk about how our jobs will have us questioning our morals.
